Your school, your community

Welcome to the Hartley website. We hope that you enjoy your visit here. We are always looking to improve the site so if you have any ideas, please let us know.

Hartley is a happy successful school, currently expanding from three to four forms of entry. Recently we opened an Upper School building, which currently hosts pupils in Year 5 and 6. Work has also begun on the demolition and re-building of our dining hall, now due to re-open in October 2014.
At Hartley we want our children to be both happy and successful. We have high expectations of our pupils and wish them to be successful life-long learners.

The progress children make at Hartley was recently recognised by the Minister of State for Schools who wrote to us saying :

‘Your results show that you are amongst the 250 top performing schools (out of over 17,000) in terms of the progress your pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2. Your school is exceptionally effective in educating its pupils.’ (David Laws, Minister of State for Schools).
We are proud of our success but are also keen to continue to make progress in partnership with parents/carers/pupils and our community. With the help and support of you as parents, together we can achieve our aims.
